About the French Exchange Program:
The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB) in partnership with Canada International Student Placement Inc. and Aventuro Canada Exchanges (ACE) have come together to offer international exchange opportunities for students from 13-17 years of age for the 2024-2025 school year.
This fully immersive experience provides students with the opportunity to improve their French language skills, experience new culture, traditions and school life while living in a safe and caring home in France.
Students enrolled in this program will be partnered with a French student who will attend school in Canada in the Spring.
Where in France will students be staying?
Participants will travel to Bretagne, France for one month departing on or about September 21. This will give our students ample time to adjust to the new school year and courses. We will return October 19, 2024. Canadian youth will be matched with a French student sharing the same interests, of the same gender and close to the same age. Participants will be carefully screened and must be approved by their school principals. Canadian participants will travel to France and attend school with their French peers and will live with their exchange family for four weeks in the fall of 2024. The French participants will come to Canada to stay with their Canadian “brother” or “sister” in your home and attend your child’s school for one month in late fall (October 19-November 16) following the Canadian stay. Families will be matched prior to the exchange to enable participants and parents to meet virtually before departing.
Your child will participate in all family and school activities while living in France experiencing the best cultural and linguistic experiences that tourism cannot provide. Aventuro Directors will be available in France and in Canada 24/7.
Aventuro Canada Exchanges (ACE) is managed by Canada International Student Placement Inc. Canada International Student Placement Inc. is based in Ottawa, Ontario and is directed by two Members in good Standing with the Ontario College of Teachers; Directors Paul Brown and Pat Mulvihill. Paul resides in Ottawa and Pat resides in Belleville. Pat is a retired principal from ALCDSB.
